Who we are
JP Foods is the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact us at sales@jpfoodsscotland.co.uk.
What we collect
- Contact details: name, business name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address.
- Order data: items ordered, payment status, delivery / collection records.
- Account credentials: hashed password (we never see your password in plaintext).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (server logs, retained 30 days).
We do not process special-category personal data and do not sell your data to third parties.
Why we process it (lawful bases)
- Contract — to take and fulfil your orders, send order confirmations, and provide customer service.
- Legal obligation — to keep records required by tax and food-safety law.
- Legitimate interests — to operate this site securely, prevent fraud, and improve our service.
Who we share it with
- Payment processing: Stripe (card details are entered on their hosted page; we never receive your card number).
- Email delivery: our transactional email provider, used to send order confirmations and password reset links.
- Hosting: our cloud infrastructure provider, located in the UK / EEA.
- Couriers and delivery partners: for fulfilment of your order.
How long we keep it
- Account and order records: 7 years after the last order, to meet tax record-keeping requirements.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Marketing preferences: until you withdraw consent.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Erase data we no longer have a lawful basis to hold (subject to tax-record exceptions).
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Receive your data in a portable form.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner (ico.org.uk).
