Every quarter we look at what's moved, what's stuck, and what the kitchens are asking for. Here's the short version for spring.
Pulling forward — Pearl River light soy in 1.75L. The 500ml has been on the round for a while; the larger format is for kitchens running through more than two cases a week, which is most of you. Same brew, ~18% better unit price.
New on the round — Lao Gan Ma crispy chilli in oil. The 280g jar that everybody asks for. It's been the most-requested off-list item for three months running, so we stopped saying "sorry, we don't stock it" and started stocking it.
Coming next month — Megachef premium fish sauce. The 700ml glass bottle, made from the first-press batch that the founder still personally tastes. We've taken delivery; QA next week, on shelf the week after.
On the back burner — the imitation oyster sauces. We've been stocking three brands. Two are going. The third stays for the kitchens who specifically ask for that lower price point. If you're running on the imitation, give the real Amoy a try at trade pricing — it's not as much of a gap as you'd think.
